About Us
My Story
My name is Brandon Hwang, and I am a high schooler with a deep passion for protecting the environment. Growing up near the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier, I have countless fond memories of playing in the water, fishing, and tubing with my grandparents. These experiences have shaped who I am and ignited my love for nature. However, I have become increasingly aware of the dangers that lead fishing weights pose to our beloved bodies of water. These weights are easily lost which can cause significant harm to wildlife and even pose risks to people.

I want to limit the recreational use of lead fishing weights so that future generations to enjoy the Chattahoochee River just as I have. I want them to be able to create their own memories of fishing, tubing, and spending time in a clean, safe environment. That’s why I am dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of lead fishing weights and advocating for their ban. By doing so, I hope to protect the river’s ecosystem and ensure that it remains a beautiful and safe place for everyone to enjoy. Together, we can make a difference and keep the Chattahoochee River lead-free for future generations.
